Learning to cook at Heathdale Christian College
Of course home economics study is about far more than just food, but is there anything better than learning to cook a delicious and nutritious meal for yourself, family and friends.
At DIB Audiovisual, we certainly don’t think so, and can see the attraction of making learning about food and cooking as engaging as possible.
That is why we were delighted to be asked by Heathdale Christian College to help them upgrade
the audiovisual systems in their Home Economics Room.
For those who don’t know, Home economics education is about students learning how to become independent, how to connect with others, and how to take action towards futures that support individual and family wellbeing.
At its core, Home Economics is about home management. This covers many subjects, such as human development, personal and family finance, housing and interior design, food science and preparation, nutrition and wellness, textiles and apparel, and consumer issues.
In this project we recommended and installed a couple of useful tools to help the teachers enhance the learning experience for their students.
First up there are two Samsung QET Series Direct LED BLU 4K UHD Displays. Coupled with
a universal articulating wall mount which allows both swivel and tilt to enhance viewing angles.
A pan tilt and zoom HuddleCam allows for professional video conferencing for students in other locations.
With a great curriculum, supported by an enhanced learning environment, we reckon the students at Heathdale Christian College are well set to understand home economics and be able to apply their learning to many aspects of managing their lives in the future. And that is how the students are amongst other things learning to cook at Heathdale Christian College. Soon enough they will be creating many a delicious meal for themselves, family and friends.
Mmm, we can also smell that roast, flavoursome curry, or vegetable stack already.
