Ivanhoe Grammar School is a high achieving co-ed school with multiple campuses across Melbourne. DIB have a long history over many years of providing quality audio visual solutions for the school. The latest job involved installing a new projector for a drama space on their Plenty campus.
An EPSON EB-G6970WUNL projector was chosen for the installation. This projector features uncompromising image quality with three times brighter colour than the projectors from leading competitors.
This drama room projector system had two different uses. Firstly, it could be used in a traditional way, for teachers or speakers to present PowerPoints, videos and other electronic resources to their class or audience. In this way, classroom projectors can enhance learning outcomes and allow for more engaging presentations and lessons. Secondly, the projector and screen can be used as a backdrop to drama performances. Image or video backdrops can be projected behind performers and customised for each performance. The EPSON projector blends into the environment, placed on black pole high above the drama space with a dark case.
The DIB team wired the system to an existing bio box at the rear of the space from where the projector can be connected to and controlled during performances. A JED T60 four button LCD panel was installed, making operation of the entire system easy with clear and simple controls. The control panel’s LCD display makes it clear to users which function is being performed and what state the system is in. A HDMI input plate was chosen so that devices can be connected to the drama room projector using just a single cable. The system can also be connected to and controlled from the front of the room where mirrored input and control panels were also installed. With this setup the projector can be used for presenters and performers alike without either having to compromise.
