Heathdale Christian College, located in Melton, prides itself on providing a learning environment that challenges students to excel in every aspect of school life. With a curriculum centered around the Christian philosophy, the school not only prepares students for the working world ahead, but also gives them every opportunity to broaden their appreciation of the world around them. Students are encouraged to grow as individuals, spiritually or otherwise, fostering an atmosphere that allows for the development of self-discipline, intrinsic motivation and a healthy self image.
The team at DIB worked with Heathdale Christian College with the AV assets for the school’s new Secondary School building, which involved the installation of AV equipment in 28 classrooms. This article will feature the major part of this project.
For 22 of the classrooms, an EPSON EB-685W 3500 ANSI WXGA Ultra Short Throw Projector was installed. With a brightness of 3,300 lumens, the projector is able to produce ultra bright, high-quality images. Further, the projector is an ultra short throw one, meaning that the shadows and glare that might obscure a presentation is reduced.
A wall bracket was installed along with the projector. The bracket conceals any cabling within itself for a neat and tidy finish. The bracket also makes it easier for future projector changes due to its universal nature.
The team at DIB also installed a EPSON 2 x 15 Watt 2-way Stereo speaker system to match the projector. Further, the system has a separate auxiliary input which may be used for direct iPod or
audio MP3 device connection. Along with this, a 3.5mm socket was also installed for direct connection of an audio device to the speaker system without the need to turn on the projector system.
An Extron MLC55 simplified 6 button wall control panel was installed. This panel allows for easy operation of the system. Because all functionality is condensed in one spot, there is no need for multiple, easily lost remote controls. These panels typically include buttons that turn the system on or off, control the volume, or source selection. The panel will also turn your system off automatically if it is accidentally left on. Further, the panels feature push buttons that click in to confirm for the user that the input has been registered, making them very user friendly.
A HDMI input plate was installed to allow users to connect their external devices, such as a laptop.
