Brighton Grammar School is an Anglican school for boys. With a passion for developing, inspiring and guiding each boy on his journey to manhood, the school aims to provide an environment where students feel like they belong. BGS not only helps students develop personally, but also academically, pushing and challenging students to strive and transcend their personal best.
Brighton Grammar worked with the team at DIB to refurbish 15 classrooms, enhancing their old AV systems with the latest AV equipment. The whole Tower Wing was revamped and modernised to give the kids the best facilities to supplement their learning.
Installation process
Each classroom was installed with a VIVI Wireless Receiver. The VIVI transforms the classroom into an interactive, collaborative learning space for both the teacher and the students. With various features that facilitate a more free flowing efficient learning environment, such as the Vivi Admin Portal for centralised management of learning spaces, students are encouraged to cooperate with one another. This leads to a more collaborative learning environment that increases student engagement in the classroom. The Vivi is versatile and can be used on all platforms, whether it be on an iOS, OS X or Windows device. This removes the headache of needing different devices to use different programs. Further, the teacher can easily share content to a student’s device without tying up the teacher’s device. For example, the teacher can stream a video on Youtube whilst working on something else at the same time.
VIVI Wireless Receiver
The team at DIB also installed a commercial grade ceiling audio system to supplement the existing system. This system includes 4 x 8″ QF8 ceiling speakers, coupled with a 30 watt amplifier, that was installed in the ceiling directly above the teacher’s desk as specifically requested by the client. Moreover, a quality wall bracket was installed to support the existing Sharp displays in the classrooms.
To make the use of the projector easy and simple, a JED 4 button LCD wall control panel was installed. This panel simplifies the use of the projector system because it not only places all functionality in one place, but it does so in four buttons. These panels often come with buttons that allow the user to turn the system off and on, control the volume or selecting the source to display.

A HDMI input plate was also installed to allow staff and students alike to connect their external devices to the existing displays.
