For important campus-wide messages, an All Call function provides a quick way to broadcast a live or pre-recorded announcement across the school. For more targeted communication, announcements can be directed to a particular area or specific room.
For larger school groups, a District Operations function can also allow administrators to broadcast announcements to campuses within a district.
Connect Classrooms With Administration
Communication also needs to work in the other direction.
With compatible Extron equipment, GVCCS supports two-way intercom communication between classrooms and the office or help desk. The system uses network-based audio communication, with compatible components such as the CC 100C codec and CC 101P intercom panel providing the classroom connection.
GVCCS also supports Instant Alert through compatible VoiceLift Pro microphone systems. This can give instructors a discreet way to signal the front office or help desk when assistance is required.
These features give schools additional communication options while keeping classroom-to-office communication within the same broader system.
Audio and Visual Messaging
School communication increasingly happens through screens as well as speakers.
GVCCS supports visual messaging and integration with compatible AV and control systems. Extron describes presets that can automatically trigger digital signage messages alongside audio announcements, providing another way to distribute campus information.
For example, a school could use an audio announcement alongside a corresponding visual message on selected compatible displays.
The exact functionality depends on the equipment and system configuration, but the principle is straightforward: communication systems can be designed to work together rather than operating independently.
