Padua College offers comprehensive and enriching courses of study and co-curricular activities that value mind, body and spirit. Guided by Catholic values and beliefs, the school aims to foster within students “a deeper awareness of themselves, of God and of others”, with an emphasis on living a life “more fully based on the values taught by Jesus”. The college further takes pride in having excellent facilities and resources that provide students with ample opportunity to excel in every area of their education, be it through their academics or their cultural and religious life. As such, the college recognises how central educational technology is in teaching students and pushing them to reach their full potential, better preparing them for the world ahead.
The team at DIB worked with Padua College to upgrade and fit two science labs with new AV equipment. This primarily involved the installation of a new projector and speaker system.
The EPSON EB-685W Ultra Short Throw projector was installed in both labs. With 3500 Lumens of brightness output, the projector is capable of producing captivating, attention-grabbing images. This is particularly helpful as it can easily compel students to focus on the content presented in front of them. Moreover, due to the projector’s ultra-short throw nature, glare or shadows that may obscure the clarity and visibility of the projected images are reduced.
To supplement the built-in speaker system in the projector, an EPSON 30 Watt external powered speaker system was installed to match the projector system. This provides some audio reinforcement to enhance any sound from videos presented or music played.
With simplicity and intuitive operation in mind, the team at DIB installed a Joey Micro 6 wall control panel. These panels make the projector system easy and simple to use by condensing the projector’s functions in one place. These panels are typically set up to include buttons that turn the system on and off, control the volume, and selecting the source to project.
HDMI, VGA & Audio input plate connections were also included, allowing for users to connect their external devices.
