Establishing themselves as a front-runner in girls’ education, St Catherine’s is dedicated to nurturing and empowering young women. St Catherine’s aims to deliver a stimulating, challenging education in a supportive learning environment, where students are encouraged to be bold, creative, independent and resilient. As a result, St Catherine’s imbues their students with the confidence, wisdom and integrity needed to become independent, global citizens, but with the self-assurance in their own unique capacities.
DIB worked with St Catherine’s in installing new interactive equipment for two of their science rooms. This hopes to increase student engagement within the rooms.
Both rooms saw the installation of a CommBox Classic Interactive Touch Monitor. This 80″ monitor (with a 75″ display area), with its ultra HD (3840×2160) 4K resolution, is a versatile piece of technology that can anticipate the needs of the classrooms. With combined infrared and camera technology for ultra fast and accurate touch response, the monitor allows four points of touch, allowing multiple users to engage with the monitor at once. The monitor’s high brightness also ensures that the images are captivating to look at.
Underneath the CommBox monitor is a CommBox integrated soundbar. Passive in nature, the soundbar hangs directly off and below the screen, working effectively whilst looking aesthetically pleasing.
DIB also installed a CommBox Control Hub 9. Featuring a Joey Micro 9 control panel and an input plate kit (with HDMI, USB, VGA and audio inputs), the control hub emphasises simplicity of control by placing all of the new system’s features in one central, easy to access place, and an accessible way of connecting their devices to the monitor. Additional HDMI and USB input plates were fitted in both rooms. The latter input can be used with the interactive functions of the monitor, such as saving notes directly to a USB stick.
