Our Lady of Good Counsel (OLGC) is a primary school that takes a contemporary approach to Catholic education. The school integrates faith and life into their innovative learning and teaching practices, better shaping students into mindful, respectful individuals who are not afraid to think critically. OLGC supports personalised learning, and takes pride in being responsive to individual learning needs to not only ensure that students are able to achieve their own personal best, but their overall well-being remains at the foreground. This philosophy means that the school is committed to fostering a safe yet engaging learning environment, where the diverse and changing needs of every child are constantly supported. As such, in order to achieve these goals, the school provides staff with the best technology to teach students more effectively.
The team at DIB worked with OLGC in order to update the projector systems in four classrooms. The selected projector was chosen by DIB after factoring the school’s needs and deliberating closely with the school.
Before the commencement of any installation work, DIB removed old equipment such as old projectors as OLGC is a valued client of the company.
The EPSON EB-685W Ultra Short Throw Projector was installed in each classroom. With 3500 ANSI lumens of output and WXGA (1280 x 800) resolution, the projector is capable of producing bright and vibrant images that not only catches a student’s attention, but ensures readability from every angle of the room. This is furthered by the ultra short throw nature of the projector, which means that any shadow or glare that might interfere with the clarity of the images is wholly reduced. The projector will display images on an existing Promethean interactive whiteboard (IWB), which was removed and reinstalled to be moved closer to the new projector.
While the projector system comes with 16W built-in speakers, DIB also integrated the new AV system with the existing audio system as a way to provide audio support.
A HDMI, VGA/Audio and USB Laptop input plate was also fitted to give users a myriad of ways through which they can connect their devices.
