Yarra Valley Grammar is a primary and secondary co-educational school which has been in operation since 1966. Yarra Valley Grammar seeks to offer students “the best possible learning opportunities and experiences under the guidance of exceptional teachers”. This guarantee of the best possible opportunities includes the very best in sport, music, art, academia and digital technologies. This range of opportunities allows students to attempt and excel in a range of areas. Yarra Valley Grammar has a strong emphasis on digital learning. They boast having the best in technology, like classroom iPads and interactive technology. Additionally, they teach children from a young age to use technology including digital photography, video and movie-making, animation and claymation, basic coding, QR codes, basic web design and multimedia creation. Also in Years 11 and 12 the school encourages BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) learning. As such, there is a clear emphasis on educational technology.
In order to extend their educational technology capabilities, Yarra Valley engaged DIB Audio Visual to create a tech solution for two of their classrooms. The team at DIB created a solution which suited the teachers and students needs and helped to enhance the classroom learning.
The Commbox CLASSIC 80″ LED touch screen 1920 x 1080 was selected for the classrooms. This Commbox allows for four points of interactive touch at one time which makes it perfect for collaborative working in the classroom. Additionally, it has a sleek and aesthetic design. This makes the Commbox perfect for the modern classroom.
The Combo CommBox Joey 6 control and HDMI, VGA+Audio and USB input system was also installed. This input system allows for a range of external devices to be compatible with the Commbox. This feature makes the Commbox the perfect classroom tool because any student or staff member can easily connect. The Joey 6 also controls the system.
