AV Upgrades for Stonnington Depot

The Stonnington Depot is a waste transfer facility that focuses on sustainability, including water conservation, solar energy, and stormwater quality treatment. The Depot strives to provide high quality, timely works and services that not only meet council requirements, but also community expectations, continuously seeking to improve on these responsibilities.

The team at DIB worked with the City of Stonnington in upgrading the AV system of the training room. After consulting with the client, DIB created a technological plan filled with the right equipment for training new staff or for general meetings.

Installation process

As a valued client of DIB, DIB has allowed for the removal of old equipment (such as old projectors and speakers) from the training room before the commencement of any installations.

For the training room, the EPSON EB-2265WU installation projector was installed. With 5,500 ANSI lumens of brightness and WUXGA widescreen full HD resolution, this projector produces ultra-bright, colourful images that are central to readability. This means that users will be able to see any text or photos clearly. This was installed alongside a 120″ Grandview Motorised projection screen, upgrading from a 16:9 aspect ratio to a 16:10 aspect ratio to better suit most laptop and PC resolutions.

While the projector comes with 16W built-in speakers, DIB installed a pair of Kramer powered stereo speakers. Featuring 2 x 30 Watt speakers, the system is able to produce high-quality audio that can fill an entire classroom with sound. This system is simpler to use as it removes the need for an amplifier. The system also includes an audio output from the projector to the speaker location, which allows audio played through the projector to be sent through the speakers.

An Extron MLC62 wall control panel was also fitted in the training room. With an emphasis on simplicity, this panel centralises all of the functions of the system and making them easy to access. The panel is typically set up to include buttons that turn the system on and off, control the volume, lower the projector screen, and select the source to be projected.

A HDMI input plate was fitted to allow for a permanent PC to be connected to the projector.
