Caulfield Grammar School is a private school with campuses located in Malvern, Wheelers Hill, Caulfield and Yarra Junction. Founded in 1881 with just nine students, the school has grown exponentially and now caters to approximately 1800 primary and high school students. Caulfield Grammar School’s overall mission is to “enable quality learning every day in every experience for every learner for life”. This commitment to educational technology enables the staff to create a collaborative and innovative teaching environment.
For this particular job, Caulfield Grammar School engaged the team at DIB Audio Visual to create a custom technology solution for three of their Malvern campus classrooms. These classrooms needed updating and DIB worked to develop a technology plan which would suit the needs of the Caulfield Grammar staff.
Installation process
As such, they chose the EPSON EB-1450Ui 3800 ANSI WUXGA Meeting Mate Finger Touch Interactive Projector as the perfect projector tool. The EPSON Meeting Mate provides features such as the ability to write on your digital slides and then save, print or email the meeting or classroom notes, directly from the projector. This means that classes are interactive, interesting and able to be reviewed by students easily. A USB Save plate is located next to the Meeting Mate so the Meeting notes can be saved easily directly onto the USB.

A 1.5 x 3.0m low gloss Vitreous Enamel Whiteboard was installed so that the Meeting Mate had a luminous white surface to project onto. While the Meeting Mate can work without a whiteboard, it is advantageous as it makes the projected colours and whites more luminous and the interactions easier.
Additionally, an HDMI, VGA, Audio and USB input plate connection was installed in the classrooms so that it is easy to connect any device with the projector system. This is useful for students and staff may be using a variety of devices. This ensures all interactions are compatible. Apple TV was also installed for use in the classroom. Two Kramer 30 Watt 2-way Stereos were installed to create high-quality sound which can be used by itself or in conjunction with the projector.

An Extron MLC62 Simplified 8 button wall control panel was installed in all the updated classrooms in order to control the system. This allows for easy use with controls such as On, Off and Volume up and down.
