Star of the Sea College is an all-girls Catholic school located in beautiful Brighton. The college prides itself on providing the highest quality e-learning for young women. In a digital age, both staff and students are reliant on technology to enhance educational opportunities. Star of the Sea College’s consistently high scoring year 12 students are a testimony to the success of a technology-based education. DIB Australia have been creating technology solutions for the College for over 8 years, including updates and new installations.
Star of the Sea College required a complete technology makeover for their Year 9 ANZAC Campus. DIB Australia was enlisted to tailor make a solution for the College’s technology needs. The College required new projectors which enabled effortless collaborative learning and were bright enough for light-filled classrooms. The DIB team worked closely with the College in order to establish a plan for the 8 classrooms in order to provide a 5-star update.
The DIB team carefully consulted the school and the EPSON EB-595Wi was chosen for the classroom The EB-595Wi is an ultra short throw projector which produces a concentrated, vibrant projection. This ensures that light filled rooms do not decrease the image quality. Additionally, the EPSON EB-595Wi projectors are interactive making them perfect for collaborative, kinesthetic learning. They can be interacted with via two specially designed interactive pens and two finger touches simultaneously. This makes the projector an educational tool which is both intuitive and enjoyable to use. DIB also installed low-gloss porcelain whiteboards ideal for use with the ultra short throw projectors as they are matte and easy to use with fingers or interactive pens.
To enhance the experience of the high definition projector the DIB team also installed 2 EPSON SP02 30W quality speakers in each classroom. These are powerful speakers which are clear and easily project so that every student can hear the relevant audio.
To ensure connectivity between devices and the projector an IPOD/MP3 Audio input, VGA input, HDMI input plate and a Laptop USB wall plate were installed in each classroom. These input plates allow for interaction between devices from students and staff, allowing for sharing and connectivity within the learning environment. Further, DIB upgraded and reprogrammed the existing JED T460 controllers in all the classrooms. These control panels are simple and easy to use with controls for on/off, source and volume adjustment.
